Karyn Watson is an Ottawa based artist with a background in Fine Arts and Interior Design. For the previous four decades she has worked in many different formats and venues…murals,private commissions, theatre and museums…all enriching her experience as a painter. Presently painting in her home studio, she is enjoying the experimentation process of cold wax, encaustic, oil and acrylic. Karyn finds inspiration for her work through shapes and colour and the emotion that transpires.

The painting process is intuitive. Series of paintings are worked on at the same time, allowing a sense of history to evolve with each pass. There is no beginning and end point in mind. The beginning is more energetic and bold and towards the end, the process becomes slower and more refined.
